About

My name is Lin Wang. I´ m a visual artist based in Oslo，Norway. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Sculpture from China Academy of Art and my Master’s Degree in Fine Art from KMD, University of Bergen. As a craft-based artist, I focus on porcelain installations, often in big scale and involving different media such as food, tattoo, video, performance and more. When it comes to material, I like challenging limitations of ceramics, breaking the stereotype frame between craft and contemporary art, and making them tighter and more inseparable. I hope to awaken the senses of the mindful observer to the rich historical and contemporary narratives that are served within my work.

 My main research project Exotic Dreams and Poetic Misunderstandings consists of a series of exhibitions beginning in 2016 until now. In the Spring and Autumn of 2019, in research of this project, I did two solo shows at the Kunsthall Grenland, Porsgrunn, Norway, and the Vigeland Museum, Oslo, Norway.
